2025 medical aid price hike looms

JOHANNESBURG - Medical aid users face another price hike shock in 2025. 

Medical aid companies are warning they might have to implement above-inflation premium increases.

This follows a decision by some companies to reduce or tighten benefits this year, to curb increases. 

But this might not be enough, as companies flag incurring additional costs due to an increase in medical fund demands. 

Mondi Govuzela, Senior Manager of Benefits Management at the Council for Medical Schemes, discussed this with eNCA.
