CAPE TOWN - The South African Catering and Allied Workers Union (SACCAWU) says it's ready for Monday's nationwide strike to highlight the plight of workers in the catering and retail industry.
Union federation COSATU has called for a national strike against high levels of unemployment in the country and rampant retrenchments in both public and private sectors.
South Africans have also been battling crime and the high cost of living.
SACCAWU's Brenita Cloete spoke to eNCA.
