JOHANNESBURG - British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak defends the joint operation with the US against Houthi rebels in Yemen, over their recent attacks on Red Sea shipping.

This follows widespread concerns around the attacks in the Red Sea and their effect on shipping costs, supply chain issues and delays.

US, UK air strikes pound Yemen after weeks of Red Sea attacks

This is due to the recent Houthi rebel attacks on container ships, and high value carriers passing through the Red Sea.

Shipping companies have been forced to re-route more than $200bn dollars in trade over the past several weeks.
