JOHANNESBURG - The imbalance between men and women in the technology sector is unlikely to be remedied unless organisations and universities work together to change entrenched perceptions about the tech industry.
This is according to a report issued by PwC’s Economics team.
In South Africa, women currently account or only 23% of the science, technology, engineering and mathematics professionals working in the country.
And only 17% of those fill leadership positions.
Three remarkable women of colour making waves in this space.
Kutlwano Rawana and Shabana Aboo Baker, from the Mustek Group and Zanele Ngema, director at CKR Consulting Engineers, spoke to eNCA.
