Discussion | SARS Commissioner Kieswetter talks on collections of over R1bn

 

PRETORIA- The South African Revenue Service is intensifying its efforts to ensure that taxpayers and traders clearly understand their obligations.

As of the end of September, SARS had collected over R1bn in gross revenue.

This strong revenue performance was supported by increased collections of corporate income tax, and provisional tax. 

However, VAT and personal income tax refund payments were lower than expected.

SARS remains optimistic about achieving the revised tax revenue estimate of over R1.8bn for the 2024/2025 fiscal year.
