JOHANNESBURG - There is an alarming waste of food in Africa.
In South Africa alone, an estimated 30% of the 31m tonnes of food produced annually is lost before reaching consumers.

Worldwide, Sub-Saharan Africa leads in post-harvest losses.
Roughly 37%, or R70bn worth is lost in grains alone. But fruit and vegetables can suffer losses of up to 50%.
African Agri Council chief executive , Ben Leyka, spoke to eNCA.
