JOHANNESBURG - The Road Freight Association called on the private sector to step up and play a key role in the reform of South Africa's logistics network.

They encouraged companies to engage with the Department of Transport.

This week a major step was taken, as the Interim Private Sector Participation Unit issued Requests for Information to further involve the private sector.

Minister Barbara Creecy confirmed that this Unit will be hosted within the Development Bank of South Africa, focussing on securing investment and partnerships for the rail and port sectors.
