JOHANNESBURG - Property rights have, for the past decade, been an issue of intense discussion and now a worrying new trend is on the rise - the hijacking of residential properties.

The most recent incident occurred in Pretoria, where city officials discovered over 20 illegal immigrants shacked up in a hijacked house in Waterkloof Ridge outside Tshwane Central.
