JOHANNESBURG - The rush is on to register spaza shops across the country.
President Cyril Ramaphosa announced on 15 November that all spaza shops be inspected for compliance and register with their respective municipalities within 21 days.
This was in response to close to 1,000 cases of chemical poisonings around the country, which left over 20 children dead, with Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal most affected.
