CAPE TOWN - This week’s fuel price increases are forcing South Africans to reach deeper into their pockets.

Agricultural producers in particular, are worried over the steep diesel price hike.

Agri-Western Cape has urged government to do more to alleviate the pressure on farmers, saying it’s too late for them to implement short-term measures to lower their production input costs.

Grain South Africa has also warned of the far-reaching consequences of this latest fuel increase coupled with the many other challenges facing producers.
