SAA, unions reach wage deal

JOHANNESBURG - The work-to-rule industrial action at South African Airways has ended immediately. 

SAA and unions have reached a wage deal.

Pilots embarked on a work-on-rule strike last week over pay.

They have now accepted the salary and benefits package.

It's not clear what the package entails. 

SAA says the deal marks a pivotal moment as it has concluded negotiations for the pilots’ bargaining unit.

It says it's committed to ensuring the airline is financially responsible and self-sustaining.
