JOHANNESBURG - The 2023 Corruption Perceptions Index has found that corruption is getting worse in South Africa, and the government’s attempts to curb it are not working.
Anti-corruption movement Transparency International released the report -- which paints a bleak picture of the country’s progress.
Corruption Watch has been tracking the progress for the past 12 years.
Executive Director Karam Singh told eNCA on Wednesday that the index shows that in this period under review perceptions have hardened and have become more negative.

"I think we can point to some things that have happened in the past year, including the greylisting of SA by the Financial Action Task Force."
