WATCH | Regulator slams top 5 medical aid companies over pricing

JOHANNESBURG - The Council for Medical Schemes is blasting the top 5 medical aid companies.

It says the schemes announced fee increases before they were given the green light.

This is required in terms of a new directive issued in July.

The council says 66 of the 71 schemes complied with the directive.

However, it was ignored by Discovery, Momentum, Medihelp, Bonitas and Bestmed.
