CAPE TOWN - The city of Cape Town's Environmental Health Directorate has revealed that 39 businesses were closed because of non-compliance.
At the same time, officials are warning against disinformation, after the closure of a makeshift butchery in Mfuleni earlier this week, following a tip-off.
They say claims that dog food was used to make sausages are false.
Some civil society organisations took to the streets in Delft, calling for the shutdown of foreign-owned spaza shops.
