JOHANNESBURG - The Competition Commission has released its final report on the Fresh Produce Market inquiry.
The inquiry began in March 2023 to assess why very few historically disadvantaged people were participating in fresh produce industry and whether prices were distorted.
A provisional report was released in June last year.
The inquiry has identified barriers to competition including concentrated market structures and practices that distort price transparency.
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Competition, Yamkela Fanini discussed this with eNCA.
