ANC spokesperson calls Mbalula accusations 'wild'

JOHANNESBURG - ANC national spokesperson, Mahlengi Bhengu-Motsiri refutes fraud accusations against secretary-general Fikile Mbalula, saying they are wild allegations.

She says Mbalula will not "step aside" from participation in party or government activities, and will not face suspension.

This comes after Thuja Capital CEO, Mthunzi Mdwaba alleged that Mbalula and three cabinet members tried to solicit a bribe for a R 5 billion UIF deal.

Mbalula has since opened a case of crimen injuria against Mdwaba.

He says that the allegations are an attempt to discredit both him and the ANC.
