PARLIAMENT - Who will become South Africa's deputy president?
ANC Chief Whip Pemmy Majodina says although Paul Mashatile holds this position within the ruling party, it doesn't mean he'll automatically become President Cyril Ramaphosa's second-in-command.

Majodina said, "he does not appoint himself as deputy president, the president appoints cabinet and deputy president."
"No one can come and volunteer to be deputy president...there's no open secret here...if the president decides to appoint him, well and good."
"There is nothing written in black and white...there's no written law about it."
