JOHANNESBURG - Eskom has become the second state-owned entity to be granted a PFMA exemption by finance minister, Enoch Godongwana.
This means that for three years, Eskom will no longer be obliged to disclose and report on historical and irregular expenditure in its annual financial statements.
Eskom says this is in a bid to improve its credit outlook.
The decision has been criticised by civil society and business groups.
Political analyst, Sysman Motloung believes government will defend its stance.
