JOHANNESBURG - The country's high levels of unemployment remain unacceptable, but government is making progress in addressing them.
Minister in the Presidency Mondli Gungubele says the current 33.9 percent shows an improvement, compared to previous years.

Over eight million South Africans are currently without jobs.
"When you say 33, it's a figure lower than 35. It's an indication of a progress in the right direction," he said.
