JOHANNESBURG - South Africa is still lagging when it comes to upholding human rights.
That's according to Amnesty International South Africa.
This is in line with a Human Rights Watch report that said the country still struggles with socio-economic rights.

Amnesty International says we have a long way to go in ensuring humans rights for all citizens are realised.
"If you start with the issue around basic education, for instance, you do find that while access has improved over the years, quality is not there," said Sibusiso Khasa.
"And some of those problems that are there create issues around quality are issues of infrastructure."
