Cholera Crisis | Amnesty International SA weighs in

PRETORIA - Amnesty International South Africa is calling on government to urgently act on the Hammanskraal water crisis following the deaths of 15 people.

34 people are still in hospital with cholera.

Deputy Health Minister also says they are also keeping an eye on cases in the Free State town of Parys and one in Limpopo as well.

He has also flagged concern that there may be more deaths in the Hammanskraal area that have not been picked up as cholera yet.

The city of Tshwane says one of the three plants that supply water to the area, Temba, has tested free of cholera but mayor Cilliers Brink says residents must still boil or disinfect their tap water until all test results are returned.
