JOHANNESBURG - The Independent Electoral Commission held its first voter registration drive at the weekend.
The commission says over a million names were added to the voters' roll on the first day.
Tessa Dooms from Rivonia Circle spoke about the importance of young people registering to vote.
"I am heartened by the fact that young people are showing up for themselves. It is very important that young people understand that this is their election."
