Higher education | A boost for missing middle students

JOHANNESBURG - The Fees Must Fall movement brought the issue of the missing middle to forefront in 2015.

It's taken eight years for the government to respond to the students' desperate call.

But finally, Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande announced that his department will help students and parents who do not qualify for the National Student Financial Aid Scheme through what he called the “missing middle” loan.
