JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa has showered South African sportswomen with praise, for their recent performances on the field.
In his weekly newsletter, the president says this has been a great year for women’s sport in South Africa.
He says the country’s female athletes have reached new heights across a number of sporting codes.
The nation has been enjoying the successes of our sportswomen on the field, track and pitch.
Banyana Banyana made history at the FIFA World Cup, becoming the first South African national football team, to qualify for the tournament's knockout stage.
And the Proteas put on a rare positive performance against New Zealand at the netball world cup, where the team finished 6th in Cape Town.
