Report implicates deputy Tshwane mayor in tender scandal

PRETORIA - Tshwane Deputy Mayor Eugene Modise faces a possible no-confidence motion following a damning forensic report released last week.

It alleges Modise improperly benefited financially from a security contract with the city.

The report, which has been handed over to the Council Speaker, recommends disciplinary action be taken against Modise, who's also the city's Finance MMC.

Modise did not respond to calls and text messages offering him a right of reply this weekend.

The DA has called on Mayor Nasiphi Moya to dismiss Modise as Finance MMC, while simultaneously pushing for his removal as deputy mayor through a no-confidence motion.
