JOHANNESBURG - The Department of Public Enterprises says it's received more than 10 unsolicited expressions of interest for SAA and its subsidiaries since the beginning of this month.
The airline’s subsidiaries include Air Chefs, South African Airways Technical and Mango Airlines.
The department has not identified the interested parties or provided any information on their proposals.
It says the expressions of interest had come from funders, equity investors and "partners".

The department reiterated that the state foresees "maintaining a certain level of presence in the ownership of the new carrier" it wants to succeed SAA.
SAA, which has been in business rescue since December, is estimated to need at least R10-billion to resume operations.
