BANGALORE - Royal Challengers Bangalore comfortably beat IPL newcomers Hyderabad Sunrisers on Tuesday.

The home side easily chased 162 to win, beating Sunrisers by seven wickets.

Sunrisers batted first, posting 161 for six in their 20 overs.

Cameron White and Thisara Perera put on a stand of 80 which helped the host to a competitive total.

White eventually fell for 52 when he was caught by AB de Villiers off the bowling of Vinay Kumar.

RP Singh was the top wicket-taker for Bangalore, taking three for 27.

In reply captain Virat Kolhi led from the front chasing down the target with relative ease.

Kohli struck the winning runs to finish on 93 not out off 47 balls.
