A policeman has been seriously injured in a high speed car chase on Corlett Drive in Johannesburg.

It's believed police were alerted to a gang of men who hijacked a car. A chase ensued and in the process the policeman was hurt and a multiple vehicle collision occured.

Sources say the gang of five hijackers have been arrested.
