Car guard witnessed Mpofu’s stabbing

Advocate Dali Mpofu is in stable condition, but will stay another day in hospital as doctors want to monitor a severe stab wound to his chest. eNCA

East London  – Advocate Dali Mpofu is in pain, but is stable in an East London hospital after he was stabbed multiple times times.

His assailants, three men, took his wallet, cellphone and car keys while Mpofu was walking along Eastern beach on Thursday.
 
A car guard who witnessed the incident said he saw Mpofu being followed and minutes later, the men following him stabbed him in the chest.
 
Speculation about the attack revolves around Mpofu being linked to the Marikana miners who are presenting evidence at the Farlam Commission over the deaths of 34 miners at the hands of police.
 
Mpofu's wife however said she believed the motive for the attack was robbery.
