51 injured in accident

Pretoria - A total of 51 people have been injured in a road accident in Pretoria.

The crash happened on the N14 near the Eeufees off-ramp.

Tshwane emergency officials say a truck carrying workers collided with a passenger vehicle.

According to ER24 spokesman Werner Vermaak the truck drove over a T-junction and plunged into a veld across the road.

The woman driving the Corsa Hatchback is presumed to be a student.

Vermaak said 25 people sustained serious injuries and have been taken to various hospitals in close proximity to the scene.

It’s still not clear exactly what caused the crash.
