JOHANNESBURG - The current deadline for the State Capture Inquiry is just six weeks away.
But that’s likely to change to the 31st of December this year.
Next month, the North Gauteng High Court will hear an application for an extension.
If successful, the lifespan of the commission will increase by ten months.
Originally, the Public Protector set down an inquiry into state capture lasting 180 days.
Last year, the Chairperson secured an extension of 24 months.
Government has already spent more than R356-million rand on the inquiry.
