CAPE TOWN - South Africa is fast becoming one of the world's kidnapping hot spots.
Insurance data and service provider OLEA says the World Population Review list shows the country has jumped to sixth regarding kidnapping, especially for ransom.

More than 15,000 kidnappings were reported to police countrywide in the 2022-23 period alone.
