Many little ones will be starting Grade 1 when government schools reopen.
JOHANNESBURG - Many little ones will be starting Grade 1 when government schools reopen on Wednesday.
Tuesday was orientation day and the corridors were filled with excitement as the Grade 1s got their first impression of 'big school'.
While it's difficult for parents to see their children starting big school, for the little ones it's a new, exciting world.
Teacher Colette Snyman says she still feels excited about teaching the new pupils.
"This is the year that I get to teach them to read and that for me is one of the greatest achievement one can ever have," she said.
Atleha Khanye says her first experience has been fun.
She made new friends and played and sang.
Khanyisile Khanye, Atleha's cousin, says school it fun.
