Youth excluded from opportunities: activist

JOHANNESBURG - As the new year begins, millions of young people across South Africa will be going out in numbers, looking for opportunities for education and employment.

Zama Mthunzi is a social justice activist saying millions of young people find themselves closed out of opportunities.

Mthunzi wrote a searing opinion piece criticising the governmental policies aimed towards youth and the implementation thereof.

He flagged a lack of representation as the main problem behind the youth's interests being left behind in the country and called for a greater youth presence, not only in legislative government but also in economic arenas.
