Africa’s health emergency | Big Pharma’s Africa exit tough pill to swallow

JOHANNESBURG - The exit of 'Big Pharma' from Africa will leave a gap that will be filled by illicit medicines and counterfeit drugs.

That's according to Lenias Hwenda, the founder and CEO of Medicines for Africa.

Several firms like GSK, Sanofi, Bayer and most recently Moderna are withdrawing from African markets.
