Foot and mouth disease | Kouga farmers herd safety with quarantines

HUMANSDORP - The Kouga Municipality is worried about a foot and mouth outbreak in Humansdorp in the Eastern Cape.

It is setting up a control point on the road between Humansdorp and St Francis Bay from Monday.

It's hoped this will curb the spread, as cows frequently cross the road for grazing.

The Kouga local municipality is pleading for patience and cooperation from motorists as it implements the control points. 

But authorities say it's the only way they can limit the spread of the viral disease.
