2024 elections | Old political guard fading away

JOHANNESBURG - There are concerns some more well-established political parties are dying a slow death.

The future of parties such as AZAPO, PAC, UDM, COPE, NFP and the Minority Front are in doubt.

These parties once enjoyed electoral support and were represented nationally and provincially.

But, their political fortunes have taken a turn for the worse.

AZAPO failed to make it back into the national assembly during the current administration.

PAC, COPE, UDM & NFP saw their representation reduced in Parliament and provincial legislatures.

Some analysts predict it will be difficult for them to bounce back in the 29 May polls.
