CAPE TOWN - ANC President, Cyril Ramaphosa, has recommitted the ANC government to continue the struggle for the rights of South African workers. 

He's paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the fight.

"We remember the generations of worker leaders. Many died because of their demands for freedom from the apartheid government. Many suffered in our country so that they could achieve our freedom,"

"Today on Workers' day we say we sill continue with all the strength we have, to continue the struggle that the workers have always engaged in," Ramaphosa said.

Ramaphosa was speaking at a national workers' day rally in Cape Town.
