Discussion | Nokuthula Simelane | MK operative's remains have never been found

CAPE TOWN - The Simelane family has been waiting for over 40 years for closure after the death of their daughter Nokuthula.

She disappeared while on a mission for the ANC, coming from Swaziland to South Africa. She was captured by apartheid-era police and is believed to have been buried around Rustenburg.

Some of the men responsible were granted amnesty by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. So far, no one has come forward with further information on her death.

Simelane was awarded the Order of Luthuli in gold by President Cyril Ramaphosa on Tuesday.

COGTA Minister Thembi Nkadimeng was there to receive the order on behalf of her sister.
